Water/Sewer/Garbage Accounts

The Village of Heyworth generally provides quality drinking water and sanitary sewer services to the citizens of the Village of Heyworth.  The Village also contracts garbage & recycling services for the community.

Establishing a New Account
In order to establish a new account, you must come to the Heyworth Village Hall and complete an account information card (known as a blue card) and pay the deposit as required by the type of account being established (residential or commercial).  If the property where you are requesting service does not have an active water service, the Village will have to send staff to turn on the water service.  Someone must be at the property at the time of water service turn on in order to confirm that there are no leaks in the structure or with the water service.  Water turn ons are completed Monday - Friday between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Deposit Fee For New Accounts
New residents and citizens with newly constructed homes should contact Village Hall about billing, water deposits, and connection fees. The current water deposit fee is $150 for residential services and $200 for commercial services.

Billing
Water, sewer and garbage bills are issued the 1st day of each month. Payment is due to Village Hall by the 15th day of the month.  Bills can be issued in either paper or electronic format.  Payments may be mailed, made in person at Village Hall, or paid online.  Customers can also sign up for automatic bank draft (ACH). After hours  payments can be made at the drop-off box at Village Hall or online.

Rates are revised yearly. Current rates are available from Village Hall.
