Village Engineer
The office of Village Engineer is appointed by the Mayor after the election of the Mayor, with approval of the appointment by majority vote of the Village Board of Trustees. The Village Engineer is generally appointed for the term of the Mayor.
Village Engineer David Shafer
David Shafer has been appointed Village Engineer of the Village of Hey worth since 2014. Mr. Shafer is a full-time employee of the Village and also serves as the Village Director of Public Works, and Village Code Enforcement/Zoning Administrating Official. Prior to being employed full-time by the Village of Heyworth, Mr. Shafer served as one of the Village Engineers of the appointed engineering firm Shive-Hattery.
