Village Amends BDD Existing Business Program to Create Second-Same Year Application Period

On August 6, 2020, the Village Board of Heyworth amended the Heyworth Business Development District (BDD) Program.  These amendments primarily create a second application period for the Existing Business Reimbursement Program.  The first application period, now called the "Primary Application Period", is the application period the Village previously had in place, which is from January 1 until December 31 of each year, with grants being awarded by February 15 after the application period and is primarily awarded based on an objective scoring system with funds available from the Primary Application Period.

If there are funds remaining after this Primary Application Period award, eligible existing businesses within the Village can then apply for use of BDD funds in the Second Application period, which will be awarded on a first come first serve basis from those remaining funds.  This may help those businesses that have unexpected eligible expenses or plans that were not known or planned for in the Primary Application Period.
